40 weeks and 3 days

Another check and still no change.  This baby is happy and content staying where it is!  The heart rate was 170 bpm.  Since I haven't changed any more and they don't want me going past 41 weeks, I had to schedule an induction.  So unless this baby changes its mind and wants to come on its own, I'll be induced on Friday, November 14.  My mom has said this whole pregnancy that I can go on the 14th since it's her birthday, so I guess she'll have a grandbaby for a gift this year!  I'm actually thankful for another week to be pregnant!  I love it and am not ready for it to be over, but then I can't wait to meet this baby either!  I'm going to enjoy every last moment!

40 weeks

Well, I made it to full term!  I still haven't progressed any more and the baby's heart rate was 143 bpm.  Since I didn't want to be induced, she wanted to do an ultrasound to check and make sure everything looked good with the baby.  Everything looked fine and the baby is measuring 8 lbs and 4 oz.  She was fine with letting me go through the weekend and then being checked again.  I'm very thankful they didn't insist on induction right away.  I was an emotional wreck!  I wanted to have the baby more than anything on my own, but I also didn't want to not be pregnant.  So now I get to continue waiting and go back on Monday for another check and then I'll have to talk about induction.

39 weeks

39 weeks! One week away!  I'm really surprised I haven't had the baby yet, but thankful at the same time.  When they first checked my blood pressure it was up, but went down while I was there.  I had felt nervous and stressed all morning so I'm sure this didn't help.  The baby's heart rate was 150 bpm.  I was still measuring 3cm and 80% effaced.  Everything looked and sounded great so I'll keep waiting and go back on my due date for another check.

38 weeks

So today was the first check to see how I'm progressing.  For now I'm dilated to 3 cm and 80% effaced.  The baby's heart rate was great at 160 bpm.  She doesn't think I'll make it to my due date, so we'll see!  It makes me all excited and sad at the same time!  I've been having a few contractions so hopefully I'll progress a little more before I head to the hospital.  Not much longer and we'll know if we have a little boy or girl!!

37 weeks

Everything is measuring great with the baby!  The baby's heart rate was 145 bpm.  Next week will be the first check!!

36 weeks

I had another ultrasound to recheck my placenta and make sure everything was where it should be for delivery.  The baby had its head down so far and was a little stubborn and wouldn't move so they really couldn't see the placenta.  However since they couldn't see it and from what they could tell it was far enough out of the way, things are all good for delivery!  The heart rate was 153 bpm.  Everything looked great and now it's just a waiting game and an appointment every week!  I can't believe there is only a month at most left!  I'm excited and sad all at the same time!

34 weeks

The baby was doing good again today.  He/She is really starting to move all the time and make big movements...the kind where my belly is lopsided!  When Kristy first checked the baby's heart rate she said it was 138 bpm.  Then she moved it to the other side and said that was more accurate at 149 bpm.  Of course mama thought this was funny and said it was just the two different babies.  :)  I'm back in two more weeks for another ultrasound to check my placenta and to check on the baby.  I'm sad it's getting so close, but then I'm so excited too!
